What's been Happen'n

Rats!  Spring break is over!  Well, it is for most people.  Now we have to get back into the groove.  Soooo hard!  The kids have been sick with one thing or another for 3 weeks.  I can't believe it because usually they are very healthy and hardly ever get sick.  We are still not over everything and I'm tired of it.
Oh well,  you can't just quit, life keeps happening.
Yesterday the boys and I caught up on laundry.  We went through every drawer of their dressers and sorted out everything that is too small.  We washed every bit of laundry that we could find in the house, folded and put it away.  It amounted to about the size of Mount Everest I'm sure.  Clearly a sign of too many un-needed clothes!  However,  it is all educational right.  Ummm....did I say spring break was over and we still weren't in the groove?  Well, we were grooving the clothes pile yesterday.  :0)

We have also been trying to keep up with our garden.  It really has been getting away on us.
The boys and I have been making newspaper pots for our plants because we don't have money right now for the plastic kind.  We are anticipating a lovely garden and we plan to build our greenhouse just as soon as the snow gets out of the way.  We have a lot of cucumber, zucchini and tomato plants.  I've also got cabbage and broccoli that is desperate for transplanting.  Not sure if there is enough time in a day though.  But this is educational right?

We always seem a little short of money when it reaches this end of the winter or the beginning of spring.  I'm not sure why but it seems to be the case every year.  Anyway,  it is time to start making little projects for our little market store.  This year I've already got a number of quilts to sell already made so we get to focus on the smaller items now.  Hoping also, that our garden produce will be plentiful enough to sell too.
Here are the boys making homemade buttons to sell.  We all worked on the project together.  Learning to make money --- That's good eh?  (can you tell, I have a bit of a guilty conscious for not cracking the whip on school right now. :0)

Nine hole buttons (above) for the purpose of
writing whatever comes to mind while you are sewing buttons.

And well, to top it all off, we are still eating yummy food, trying to be healthy against all odds.

Ta ta for now!
Now back to our education - Uh, that would be skating and playing hockey.  It's the last day for that till next year.  Can't miss it for all the sickness and education in the world or I will never hear the end of it.  :0)

  2. It was my husband's sandwhich. He hasn't given up cheese. He loves the stuff but the boys and I could do without it as we prefer the taste of homemade cheese like what is on the second picture of food. We love our cashew cheese! :0)
